2018–2023 faculty campaign

When you give to the faculty, you:

  • Help pharmacy students gain the skills they need to face the challenges of the profession
  • Help practising pharmacists keep their skills up to date
  • Help fund our professors’ research teams
  • Show you care about your alma mater
  • Enjoy the feeling of paying it forward
  •  Make a difference in the lives of students and pharmacists

In 2018–2019, the faculty received $444,790 in donations and awarded close to $200,000 in student scholarships on behalf of:

  • 940 alumni and friends
  • 79% of faculty staff
  • 35 businesses
  • All faculty students

In recent years, the Faculty of Pharmacy has identified four priorities:

1) Acquire knowledge: PharmD

2) Drive research

3) Innovate through continuous improvement to higher education

4) Strengthen continuing education programs

To support these goals, the Faculty of Pharmacy created a five-year fundraising campaign for 2018 to 2023, entitled Help Us Build a Strong Future!

A future for our students, our researchers, and practising pharmacists who are working hard to make sure we all have a brighter future. 

In the next few years the faculty will be reaching out to alumni and partners whose generosity will foster confidence and determination among those being supported through the fund.

The Faculty Circle is an alumni networking group that helps us achieve our financial goals for ambitious projects.  Currently, 52 Faculty Circle members raise the funds we need to get truly remarkable initiatives up and running.

Join the Faculty Circle

Faculty Circle objectives

  • Foster the development of a philanthropic culture at the faculty
  • Cultivate and maintain alumni’s sense of belonging to their alma mater

Eligibility requirements

  • You have a diploma from the Université Laval Faculty of Pharmacy or have completed part of your education at the faculty, or
  • You are a current or former faculty staff member and have contributed at least $100 a year or a total of at least $5,000 to a faculty fund, or
  • You are a former Université Laval School of Pharmacy director or Faculty of Pharmacy dean, or
  • You don’t meet the criteria above but are an honorary member appointed by the Faculty Circle Development Committee in recognition of your support

A brief history

In 1932 the then Université Laval School of Pharmacy director Antonin Marquis created an alumni group called the Courtois Circle, named after the French chemist Bernard Courtois (1777–1838).

In the same spirit, the Faculty Circle brings our alumni together in the pursuit of fundraising objectives aligned with the Faculty of Pharmacy’s current needs.

Apothecary: $10,000 to $24,999
Master Apothecary: $25,000 to $49,999
Alchemist: $50,000 to $99,999
Master Alchemist: $100,000 to $249,999

Organize a fundraising campaign on behalf of your graduating class

Let your class leave its mark on the Ferdinand-Vandry Building:

Are you organizing a class reunion? Consider combining it with a special fundraising campaign to support the faculty and include your class on the Ferdinand-Vandry Building class wall. Once your class has raised a total of $20,000, the faculty will recognize your contribution with a plaque on the class wall at the entrance to the cafeteria.
