Scholarships and financial aid for graduate students

There are various funding sources available to students who want to enroll at the graduate level. Most scholarships are based on academic record rather than financial need.

Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies Student Success Scholarships

Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (FESP) Student Success Scholarships are available to students enrolled in master’s or PhD program in the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies. The scholarships are designed to help students succeed and graduate on time, i.e., 4 to 6 full-time semesters for a master’s and 8 to 12 semesters for a PhD (12 credits per semester).

See the Faculty plan for awarding FESP Student Success Scholarships (in French only) (in effect from May 1, 2021 to April 30, 2022).

You must apply by the end of the semester in which you complete the requirement. The semester ends the day before the next one starts.

Teaching and Research Fund

The goal of the Teaching and Research Fund (FER) is to promote teaching and research at the faculty through financial support for activities and projects that align with its academic mission. The FER supports research and development projects undertaken within the faculty and offers substantial scholarships to attract students to pharmacy.

Faculty Circle conference scholarships

Faculty Circle conference scholarships support graduate students in the Université Laval Faculty of Pharmacy who wish to present their results (orally or in writing) at conferences in Canada or abroad. The program also boosts the Faculty of Pharmacy’s visibility on the national and international stage.

Funding from your research supervisor

As most faculty professors who supervise graduate students are subsidized by external organizations, they can use these subsidies directly to employ students as research assistants.

Teaching assistants

This position involves helping supervise undergraduate students in hands-on activities and proctoring and grading exams under the supervision of the professor teaching the course.

Lecturers

A certain number of graduate students, mostly in PhD programs, are hired to teach undergraduate pharmacy courses in their field of research.
